Library

The Temple Beth Israel Library houses a collection of books of Judaic interest for adults and children in our Congregation. It includes reading material for pre-school and elementary school-age children, young-adult literature, resources for Bar and Bat-Mitzvah candidates and for D’vrai Torah, fiction and non-fiction with Jewish content and/or Jewish authors for adults, and Judaic reference books. There is an automated catalog of the collection.

Library Hours

Tuesday - 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 pm

The Library is also open and available for browsing and borrowing on days when the Temple is open, except for Shabbat and Jewish holidays.

Temple Beth Israel is proud of its library which has now grown to over 2500 titles for adults, children, and preschoolers, as well as its automated catalog. On our shelves you’ll find best-selling novels as well as non-fiction titles including philosophical works, biographies, kosher cookbooks, Jewish humor and a growing children’s collection, all with Jewish content.  New materials are added frequently, thanks to the generosity of our many patrons, including most notably Carolyn Hessel on behalf of the Jewish Book Council.
