On Shavuot, we commemorate the giving of the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. Shavuot Service Schedule: VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: The Briefcase Project, a large-scale collaborative initiative of AmeriCorps and UJA Federation of New York, is holding a day of Women’s Empowerment on June 4, 2013. The event is being held at the Economic Opportunity Commission at 134 Jackson Street, Hempstead, NY, 11554 from 9:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The event will be focusing on job readiness, including seminars on: Interview Preparation skills (IPREP); Proper Business Attire; Social Media Networking; and Resume & Cover letter preparation.
